An 80-year-old from the Ried district drove his car on Wednesday around 9:15 a.m. in the Reichersberg municipality on the B148, Altheimer Straße, coming from Ort im Innkreis in the direction of Altheim. At the Linn freight road, he stopped his vehicle and signaled to turn left. A 47-year-old Ukrainian national from Germany was traveling in the opposite direction in a van. When he saw the car, he slowed down and signaled the pensioner with the headlight flasher that he could turn into the intersection. A 23-year-old Romanian citizen also drove in a small truck in the direction of Altheim. According to his own statements, he overlooked the stationary car and crashed almost unchecked against its rear. As a result of the collision, the car was rotated 180 degrees and thrown onto the shoulder on the right. A 62-year-old from the Ried district steered his pickup behind the Romanian in the direction of Altheim. He was able to stop his vehicle in time behind the small truck. A 24-year-old Romanian drove his small truck directly behind the pickup. According to his own statements, he overlooked the stationary pickup and also drove almost unbraked against its rear. The impact pushed the pickup onto the 23-year-old’s small truck and then into the oncoming lane, where it collided with the 47-year-old’s van. The 80-year-old suffered injuries of an unspecified degree and was taken to the Ried im Innkreis hospital. None of the other people involved were injured in the accident. The B148, Altheimer Straße was completely closed in the area of the accident site for around 2.5 hours.
