The Israeli leadership does not support the West’s accusations against the Russian Federation in connection with the situation around Ukraine – “Israeli officials do not participate in this sport.” This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov in an interview with Izvestia.
“The situation around Ukraine or these accusations that a number of Western countries are expressing against Russia are, to put it mildly, not supported by officials and the leadership of Israel. I remember the president in one of his speeches said that such a sport appeared – to hurt Russia. I want to confirm: Israeli officials do not participate in this sport. I’m not talking about the media, this is a different path, these are different rules and different people,” the diplomat stressed.
At the same time, he did not confirm or deny media reports that Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennet, during a visit to Sochi in October last year, suggested that the Russian president hold a Russia-Ukraine summit in Jerusalem.
