In the fourth quarter of 2022, they were 7.4 percent higher than in the same period last year. Compared to the previous quarter, they increased by 1.3 percent.
In building construction, the annual average increase was 8.2 percent – in residential building and settlement construction by 8.0 percent and in other building construction by 8.6 percent. In addition to concrete and reinforced concrete work, the construction work performed by professionals – such as timber construction, glass facades, roof sealing work, metal construction work or sheet metal work – has contributed to the considerable price increases.
In the fourth quarter, building construction rose by 11.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In residential and settlement construction, prices rose by 11.4 percent, in other building construction by 12.5 percent.
In civil engineering, the price increase for the year as a whole, at plus 1.3 percent, was significantly lower than in building construction. In the fourth quarter, the construction price index increased by 1.1 percent compared to the previous year, compared to the previous quarter by 0.2 percent. In road construction, the increase for the year as a whole was 1.5 percent, in bridge construction 1.8 percent and in other civil engineering 1.1 percent. In all three divisions, it was primarily the “bituminous base and surface layers” segment that contributed to the price increases. In road construction, among other things, “pipes, channels, waste water disposal and non-pressurized drainage systems” also became more expensive. The biggest increase in prices in bridge construction was for “bridge equipment” and “substructure planning and unbound base layers”.
