While the stock markets are a highly uncertain pleasure not least because of the customs escapades of US President Donald Trump, prices on the art markets know one direction: upwards. One of the greatest art dealers in Austria is Walter Freller. Born in Mühlviertel, who has started his career as a old goods dealer on Linz’s main square, leads a trading house in the center of Linz and, above all, has works by Austrian artists.
The most expensive picture that currently hangs on its exhibition space comes from the Tyrolean painter Albin Egger-Lienz. “Lunch”, one of the most famous work of Egger-Lienz, costs 1.85 million euros. In addition, works by Alfons Walde, Hermann Nitsch and Franz Sedlacek, for a few weeks now, have also increased works remarkable women – from Xenia Hausner to Ingrid Bartel.
