In the fifth edition, the Linz Landestheater brings five world stars of opera music to the music theater Linz with its “Great Voices” format. Again: audience favorite Rolando Villazón, the celebrated bassist Günther Groissböck and returnee Piotr Beczala, whose impressive career in Linz took her exit. With Anna Netrebko, for example, opera stars can also be found on the guest list, who are guesting for the first time at “Great Voices”. An overview:
Julia Lezhneva, October 19: The Russian soprano is known for her clear vocals and her interpretation of baroque music. Hardly any other natural element played as a poetic role in the music of the Baroque as the water. Together with the Chamber Orchestra Basel, Lezhneva will explore figures from baroque works such as the nymph Galatea from Nicola Porpora’s “Polifemo” or the legendary siren Partenope from Leonardo Vincis “La Rosmira Fedele”.
