Heavily soiled and with 200 kilometers more on the odometer, Mühlviertel police officers found a car in Schwertberg early on Saturday morning – exactly at the place from which it had been stolen the previous evening. All the indicator lights on the car came on, and a wallet with cash was missing. What had happened to the car on Saturday night initially puzzled the police.
After extensive investigations, two 16-year-olds from the Perg district have now been identified. They put the unlocked car into operation on Friday evening and took a spin through the Mühlviertel with three underage friends.
The duo took turns driving, and none of the boys has a driver’s license yet. According to the police, the route stretched to Katsdorf and the neighboring outlying communities. There was property damage in the low four-digit range. The boys will be reported to the district authority, the police said on Thursday evening.
