The “Treasurer” project was launched in 2021 on the initiative of the Women’s Network 3, which is active in the districts of Grieskirchen, Ried and Schärding, the Rotary Club of Grieskirchen and the budget consultancy “Klartext – Finanzliche Gesundheit”. The aim is to help women in financial distress quickly and unbureaucratically. In an initial discussion, it is clarified how high the financial need is that cannot be covered by federal and state subsidies.
“That’s where we come in. With a donation, we want to help the women to overcome a first hurdle,” says Norbert Mayr from the Rotary Club Grieskirchen. Three goals are then worked out with the advisors from the women’s network, which allow an optimistic view of the future. The counseling content is as individual as the women themselves: from career orientation and application support to child-rearing issues, separation or loneliness. With “Plain Text – Financial Health” the women work out the actual expenses in a budget consultation and learn everything about optimizing their own finances.
Melanie Brandl from Budget Advice explains: “The Treasurer project opens up new perspectives for the participants so that they can lead a self-determined life. With budget advice and our specialist knowledge, we support them on their way to financial health.” Carmen Palisa, advisor to Frauennetzwerk 3, adds: “The course will be set within a period of six months.”
Help for Innviertlerinnen
So far, eight women from the Ried and Schärding districts have benefited from this project. The donation from the Rotary Club of Grieskirchen, for example, enabled them to rent a new apartment by financing the deposit. It was also used to buy furniture, household appliances and groceries, or made it possible to finance medical expenses – necessary expenses that otherwise would not be included in the tight budget. The project will run until the end of June this year.
Eva Kapsammer, head of Women’s Network 3, is now addressing interested women from Grieskirchen: “The treasurer’s offer with a donation from the Rotary Club Grieskirchen and comprehensive advice is ready.” Contact on Tel. 06645178530
