This was announced by the Ministry of Education. This corresponds to over 4000 full -time teachers. Applications on https://wartung.sbildung.gv.at/ are possible until May 9th. In addition to people with a degree in teaching studies, Education Minister Christoph Return (NEOS) also invited career changers to the application.
By far the most new teaching staff is currently being sought in Vienna (almost 2000 posts), followed by Lower Austria and Tyrol with around 1000. Over 600 posts are advertised in Upper Austria, more than 400 in Salzburg and in Vorarlberg, and in Carinthia and the Burgenland around 200.

With 120,000 teachers at around 6,000 schools, the education system is one of the country’s largest employers. In addition to the main tender, positions are also advertised under the school year in order to remain flexible in the event of carenizations, sick leave or transfers.
