From a “solid year in a volatile environment”, those responsible for the plastic group Greiner spoke at the presentation of the balance for 2024. While the plastic market was generally declining, it was possible to keep the turnover in the group stable. This decreased from 2.12 to 1.99 billion euros by 0.8 percent. In two of the three divisions (the packaging unit packaging and the medical technology area Bio-One), sales were increased and market shares were gained, said CEO Saori Dubourg. In the previous year, the Nevon foam division was a problem child. The German ex-BASF manager Dubourg took over the management of the family group in March of the previous year from Axel Kühner and presented the annual balance for the second time, which was in detail in 2024:
With Greiner Packaging, sales rose by 3.6 percent to 875 million euros. “The past few years have shown that the packaging market is resilient against economic fluctuations,” says Dubourg. A little stronger, namely by 4.5 percent to 666 million euros, the sales in the medical technology division Bio-One, in which products for all processes before the laboratory analysis, such as tubes for sampling, as well as products for the cultivation and analysis of cell and tissue cultures, are manufactured. At this pace it should continue: Dubourg and CFO Hannes Moser also expect a similar annual growth in the Bio-One division for the coming years. One reason for this is the aging population and an increase in chronic diseases.
