The third year of recession in a row brakes Austria’s economy and further affects competitiveness. In his location report presented on Tuesday, the management consultant Deloitte referred to the competitiveness ranking of the Lausanner Economic University IMD.
Among 67 countries analyzed worldwide, Austria was in 26th place last year. In 2020 it was still 16th.
The distance to the leading countries is getting bigger instead of smaller, said Harald Breit, head of Deloitte Austria. Singapore, Switzerland, Denmark and Ireland are ahead worldwide. In Europe, Austria comes to twelve.
