“We started rehearsals in small groups at the end of January. We have been rehearsing with the stage design since Easter. The last two or three weeks have been quite intense, now our anticipation for the presentation of our piece is already great,” says Florian Zillner, the chairman of the Maria Schmollner theater association “Lampenfieber”.
The piece “The Unpleasant” by William Shakespeare (editing by Christoph Eckert) is performed. “We bring production in a fresh and contemporary interpretation on our theater stage,” says Zillner. The premiere next Friday, May 9th at 8 p.m. in the multi -purpose hall Maria Schmolln is almost sold out. For the further demonstrations on May 10, May 15, May 16 and May 17 (8 p.m.) there are still tickets that can be reserved online.
The romantic comedy will take visitors to summer Italy. “The stage design really conveys Italian flair,” says Zillner. The “Ristorante Baptista” awaits guests with a sunset. But romantics have a hard time in the play when it comes to conquering the hearts of the two host daughters.
Gratifying influx
The theater group Lampenfieber celebrated the stage comeback in 2023 after six years. In the past two years, the influx of younger, talented actors has been great. Zillner does not describe it as a “classic generation change”. “Many loved, established actors are still on stage. Visitors can look forward to a good mix,” says Zillner.
