ELGA GmbH assured this under pressure from Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens), the ministry announced on Friday evening. The implementation date originally communicated by ELGA (April 22) “was neither comprehensible nor acceptable from the point of view of the Ministry of Health”.
“Therefore, a corresponding order was issued to ELGA GmbH today to complete the register adjustment as soon as possible, this time in writing,” said the department. Those responsible at ELGA have now assured the Ministry of Health in a letter that the adjustment could start earlier than initially stated by April 8 at the latest – i.e. two weeks earlier. From this point in time, the authorized special outpatient clinics and epidemic doctors should be able to enter vaccination exemptions centrally.
ELGA GmbH – a company founded by the federal government, the federal states and social insurance – was commissioned more than a year ago to create and maintain the vaccination register, which also includes any adjustments to the system. The Ministry of Health has been in contact with those responsible at ELGA since the beginning of December for the adjustment that has now become necessary regarding vaccination exemptions – several meetings have taken place for this purpose.
