The US fitness company Peloton does not make the headlines: first there were rumors about takeover bids from Nike and Amazon. This week, the company, known for its exercise bikes and treadmills, reported that 2,800 jobs, a fifth of all jobs, are to be cut. Co-founder John Foley also announced that he intends to step down as CEO.
Peloton was one of the big winners at the beginning of the corona crisis, but demand has waned recently. The share price has fallen within a year by 74 percent to 37.19 US dollars.
