Treatment against hay fever

Treatment against hay fever

About 20 percent of the population suffer more or less intensely from what is known as hay fever. If there is only a little sneezing and itchy eyes every now and then when the spring wind blows the pollen particularly hard through the blossoming nature, short-term symptomatic therapy can be sufficient.

However, if the symptoms are as severe as you have described, you should definitely see your doctor in good time for an allergy test. There is a high probability that he will recommend hyposensitization treatment to you. However, this should be started a few months before your symptoms in order to mitigate your excessive immune response to the pollen, which will then end up in your nasal mucosa, your eyes and the bronchi. Normally, this therapy is very well tolerated. However, it must be continued for a few years so that you can enjoy the great outdoors again in spring and only require mild symptomatic treatment. Your doctor will find out what you are particularly sensitive to and prescribe a very specific drug for you, since any desensitization treatment must be tailored to the individual patient.

If you are already too late for this this year, I still recommend that you see your doctor in order to make an appointment in good time for this promising conversion therapy for the coming season. Because it takes at least a few weeks to move your immune system from an excessive reaction to pollen tolerance. The doctor can also prescribe you the appropriate remedies to treat the symptoms well.
