110 IT companies with 3000 employees are home to the digital mile between the harbor and the tobacco factory-the trend is rising, because the east of Linz is growing strongly. “Nothing works anymore, so it takes alternatives,” says transport officer Vice Mayor Martin Hajart (VP), otherwise the district will suffer in traffic. Hajart means S-Bahn, Obus and bike paths. The cycle path on Lederergasse, which will connect the Linz center to the port and industrial area, play a central role. After the first construction phase, the second between Honauerstrasse and Petzoldstrasse is now completed. The release should take place by the beginning of school in autumn.

75 percent of employees do without the car
IT companies such as Dynatrace, which is currently massively expanding the location, welcome the project and encourage your employees to get to work without a car. A spacious wheel cellar, shower facilities and drying cabinets for wet wheel robes also enable a leveling out of the surrounding area, such as the Mühlviertel (see right). If you cycle or walk on foot, you will receive a goods voucher of 220 euros, publicity user the Austria-wide climate. “In the meantime, around 75 percent of Linz’s Dynatracers do without the car on the way to work,” says site manager Veronika Leibetseder. The new bike axis can also be seen positively at the B7 bicycle center, which has its location in the tobacco factory, and in the parish church of St. Severin. “For the B7 bicycle center in Linz, the new wheel axle in Lederergasse not only brings an improvement in the infrastructure, but a strong signal for sustainable mobility and safe ways-both for our customers and for our employees,” says B7 Managing Director Ulrike Würzburger. Helmut Wagner from the pastoral team St. Severin sees the chance to combine the forecourt of the church with the auxiliary lane, which will be part of the cycle path, and to design a new public square.
