Electric boost for the Sportage: 265 hp and all-wheel drive

The turbocharged 1.6-liter petrol engine with 180 hp acts as the basic structure for the two hybrid drives. And in both versions, the electric drive gives the combustion engine a powerful boost. As a system performance, Kia specifies 230 hp for the pure hybrid Sportage. This variant can be ordered both as a front-wheel drive vehicle and as an all-wheel drive vehicle. The battery capacity is 1.49 kilowatt hours.

If you like it even more powerful, you can confidently opt for the plug-in hybrid. The battery can store 13.8 kilowatt hours, this energy is sufficient for an electric range of 70 kilometers (according to the WLTP standard). The battery is full after 1:45 hours at the wall box (7.2 kW charging power) and after 5.5 hours at the household socket.

“Real” all-wheel drive

The plug-in hybrid drive generates a whopping 265 hp and is always delivered as a four-wheel drive, with the 4WD being powered by a mechanical transmission. That means: Even if the battery is empty, the four-wheel drive works without restrictions.

Deliveries will start in the spring. The starting prices: 42,290 (hybrid) or 46,190 euros (PHEV).
