Never again war!

“Dear brothers and sisters, happy Sunday. I consider a gift from God the fact that the first Sunday of my service as a bishop of Rome is that of the good shepherd, the room of the Easter time,” were his first words.

In that context, he thanked the constant signs of affection that he received since they chose him as brand new Pontiff last Thursday: “I greet with affection to all pilgrims and give them the grace to rejoice the feast of Christ the good shepherd.”

Leo XIV remembered Francisco I and sent a message for all young people in what was a clear sign that he will continue with the episcopal line of Bergoglio.

“Let’s do our imitation that Pope Francis left us in his message for this day. He asked us to host and accompany young people,” he said.

Then, he invited them to participate in the Catholic Church: “I tell young people not to be afraid, to accept the invitation of the Church and the Lord.”

The Pope showed an approach to Jorge Bergoglio from the first day he assumed as the maximum authority of the Holy See and left it reflected this Saturday, when he visited his grave in the Basilica of Santa María la Mayor, in Rome.
