The HSV Ried local heroes want to use the home advantage and give their club home wins. “Victories at home are the most beautiful. Mehrbach is one of the top routes in Europe. The route also offers a lot for the audience. They have a good insight and see a lot of the race,” says Pascal Rauchecker, currently second in the MX Open overall ranking. Johannes Klein is in front of him by 18 points. At his home race, he wants to try to shorten the gap. “Due to my father’s death, I have only been able to train a little in the past few months. That is why I am satisfied with the previous season, even if more would have been possible. But I also have to say honestly that Johannes Klein is going a very good season. I grew up at the Güpl and wants to win the two races here.
Michael Sandner wants to continue his success run (six victories in six races) in the MX2 classification. Last year in the MX Open rating at the start, the HSV pilot decided to start a class deeper this year. “I wanted to have more fun driving again, so the decision,” says Sandner. The fact that Sandner has been driving with a torn cruciate ligament for a year shows that motorcross drivers are tough. “I don’t have any problems. As long as it is, I will not undergo any operation,” says Sandner.
