
At around 4 p.m., the Wallern volunteer fire brigade, together with the Haiding volunteer fire brigade, was called for an assignment with the keyword “Personal Rescue – Traffic Accident Car”. A 72-year-old from St. Roman (district of Schärding) and a 65-year-old from Feldkirchen an der Donau (Urfahr-Umfahrt district) had collapsed with her cars with a previously unknown cause in the Weghof area (municipality of Wallern an der Trattnach).

The 72-year-old was trapped in the car and had to be freed from the fire brigade with a special Bergerererät. The roadway was then cleaned, the two vehicles removed from the scene of the accident and the road was released again for traffic.
Both women were seriously injured and brought to the Wels Clinic after the emergency doctor. The dog of the 65-year-old suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The Wallern fire brigade was used for around three hours with 19 comrades. The police and the Red Cross were also on site.
