Football sub-house: In Hohenzell it comes to seeing an explosive reunion of old acquaintances

Hohenzell has a good laugh: In the second half of the season, the SVH has so far been unbeaten and is currently in fourth place in the South District League.

If the SV Hohenzell and the SV Eberschwang meet, then – regardless of the respective table situation – there is usually enough ignition material in the game. The duel between the two neighboring clubs is one of the most traditional and therefore largest derbies in the Innviertel football sub-house. Next Saturday (kick-off 5 p.m.), the game between the two local rivals in the district league Süd has an even higher explosiveness for several reasons: In winter, Josef Bögl took over the (player) coaching position of Meistercoach Günter Fischer in Eberschwang. The 48-year-old Bögl has his football roots in Hohenzell, in his decades of player career, Bögl was already on the pitch for both clubs.

Eberschwanger derby hero

Among other things, at the last derby victory of the SVE against Hohenzell, which was now more than 13 years ago: Bögl became the big Eberschwanger derby hero with three goals in the 5: 4 success on September 2, 2011. A success that Bögl would of course want to repeat on Saturday-and should also: Because his team is currently in the middle of the relegation battle after the first district league promotion last year. Finally, the Eberschwangers were able to get some air in the table cellar with two clear 4-0 wins against Windischgarsten/Spital and the Vöcklamarkt Juniors. Under Bögl you could prepare yourself from the end of the table to the 14th place, which would currently mean the relegation. “After difficulties in starting the second half of the season, we recently pulled the game of the game back on our side,” says Bögl. “The character of the team is remarkable. We work hard and stick together. With the performance shown, it was only a matter of time before the results are right again.”
