The sensation is perfect: Austria again won the Eurovision Song Contest eleven years after the Triumph from Conchita in Copenhagen. The 24-year-old countertenor JJ secured the trophy with his Popera ballad “Wasted Love” in Basel on Saturday evening. Austria was able to secure victory in the world’s largest music competition for the third time. “Leitln, we won the Shau,” said JJ in an interview with moderator Hazel Brugger based on the legendary Sager of ORF commentator Andi Knoll 2014.
