The software company BMD from Steyr remains up to growth: sales rose by eight percent to 97 million euros in the past financial year (at the end of March). Increase rates in this area had also existed in recent years. 824 employees are employed. There are also locations in Neuzeug, Vienna and in neighboring countries. The company, which was founded in 1972, has 30,000 customers, 1,500 new customers were added last year.
According to managing director Markus Knasmüller, there was stable growth in all business areas. With a sales share of around 42 million euros, the majority of maintenance is eliminated: “All of our customers have maintenance contracts. If there is a change in the law, this must be implemented in our programs.” According to its own statements, BMD is the market leader for software for tax consultants, accounting software solutions for companies and in the case of payroll systems. The company also offers cloud services and its own academy. “We have all the services that companies need,” says Knasmüller.
BMD also offers its services in the neighboring countries of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Germany. Knasmüller also announced during the balance sheet presentation that the company wants to continue growing internationally with acquisitions in these countries: “There will be news here in the current financial year.”
