An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred on February 13 at 22:25 local time (21:25 Moscow time) near the Georgian village of Sameba, located 58 km from Tbilisi. The settlement is located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. It is noted that strong tremors were felt both in the Georgian capital and in Batumi.
As the mayor of the Dmanisi municipality, Koba Muradashvili, later said, the earthquake did not cause any damage and did not lead to death or injury. According to him, after the incident, electricity stopped working in the Dmanisi municipality, but now the electricity supply has been restored.
