“Experienced mountaineer” (57) fell to death in Ebensee from Steilwand

The wife of the same age had alerted the mountain rescue Ebensee in the night hours after her husband was still not at home. The search with drones, search dogs and police helicopters had been interrupted at night. The body of the missing person was discovered early Sunday morning.

“He was an experienced mountaineer who knew well,” said a member of the Ebensee mountain rescue on Sunday. After the search had to be canceled at around 2:00 a.m., the forces went back to the mountain for 5:00 a.m.
