This was announced on Sunday, February 13, in an interview with the Georgian news agency InterPressNews by the mayor of the Dmanisi municipality, Koba Muradashvili.
“Nothing happened to us. We are all peaceful and calm. Our municipality was the epicenter, but there was no destruction or casualties,” the official said.
According to Muradashvili, electricity stopped working in the Dmanisi municipality after the incident, but power supply has now been restored.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 occurred on February 13 at 22:25 local time (21:25 Moscow time) near the Georgian village of Sameba, located 58 km from Tbilisi. The village is located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. It is noted that strong tremors were felt both in the Georgian capital and in Batumi.
