The Höhnharter Borbet alliance sports center was quickly converted into a large party site last weekend. For the fistballers of the ASVÖ SC Höhnhart there was double reason to be happy. While the Bundesliga team celebrated a clear 4-0 win in Grieskirchen in the promotion playoff and thus opened another season on the highest floor in the country, the second team of the Höhnharter fistballers fixed the championship title in the 2nd Landesliga. The Landesliga team defeated the teams from Zell an der Pram (3-0) and Franking (3: 1) on its own facility and thus has the great chance of being represented for the first time with the second team in the 1st Landesliga. Whether the second Höhnharter team rises directly to the highest division of the federal state or has to take the detour via the playoff games still depends on the respective relegations from the 2nd Bundesliga. A decision will be made in early July.
Either way: The joy and enthusiasm among the fistball players in Höhnhart is currently at an absolute highlight, as section manager and Bundesliga coach Lukas Diermair says in the OÖN conversation. “The joy of the two successes is very great. I always believed in my players, but that we mastered it so confidently and fix the whereabouts in the Bundesliga prematurely is something special and was not to be expected,” says Diermair. The Bundesliga team only celebrated the promotion last year, but missed the master playoff of the top six teams in the basic round and therefore had to try the Bundesliga again in the promotion playoff in the past few weeks. There, however, the Höhnharter impressively underpinned their Bundesliga ambitions. In six games you celebrated five wins, only against league leaders Drösing was pulled out. The past three games were recently even without loss of sets. “I am very proud of my players. They performed their performance in all previous games in spring. Now we want to take the next step in the coming Bundesliga season,” said the coach. The Höhnharter Weg should lead to the master playoff in the long term. For this big goal, however, the course has not changed. Section head Diermair and his team continue to stick to the concept of only standing on the field with owner -building players. “Everything else is out of the question for us, the team still has a lot of development potential and the boys in the club pursue a lot.”
