Victoria West says, especially in times like this, she is happy to share her music with others: “Because she can bring us together.” The young Wels student, who inspires more than 800,000 followers with vocal cover and colorful clothing style on the social media platform TIKTOK alone, will present some songs from her first album on the main stage at the Wels city festival on June 28th. “I’m on stage for the first time,” says the artist.
During the program presentation, Mayor Andreas Rabl (FP) referred to the current events yesterday: “It is necessary to give mourning time and space. In two weeks the city festival will initiate a change of perspective.” On June 27th and 28th, the tens of thousands of visitors, the city and city marketing await, will be offered a dense program. “It is the festival in Wels with the greatest width that also takes up the largest space in the city,” said Rabl.
In total, more than 100 partners from the city – from companies such as the Trogroup and the Sparkasse Oberösterreich to the fire brigade and the Red Cross to FC Wels and the Weiß Möwe pilot – – take part in the event. A total of 60 hands -on stations came together. City marketing boss Peter Jungreithmair is pleased with the strong demonstration of the cohesion in the city: “We asked the companies and clubs to come to us with their ideas-and they have delivered.”
Big stage show
It starts on Friday, June 27, at 2 p.m. with the opening on the main stage on the town square. All stations are opened and offer numerous attractions for the whole family and gastronomic highlights until late in the evening. In the night catering is celebrated until morning, at 6 a.m. it goes to the weekly market. There is a popular festival atmosphere at the morning pint including live music from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At 2 p.m., the stations will go into the second round from kennel to exemption and town square to the Kaiser-Josef-Platz. When the restaurateurs call for curls on Sunday at 6 a.m., the 40 hours of the city festival are full.
The centerpiece is the main stage on the town square, which is played by clubs, schools, musicians and blue light organizations during the day. The DJ duo “Darius and Finley” put on on Friday evening from 9 p.m. After Victoria West, the popular Austropop cover “Hoamspü” appears on Saturday. “We look forward to a nice party that only comes about thanks to the many participants,” says City Councilor Martin Oberndorfer (VP).
Exciting “side events”
Two events complement the city festival: As reported on June 27, the Eisenbahner music association commits its 100th anniversary with concerts on the Traun and a light show, and the state of Upper Austria invites you to the folk garden from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
