Cellar and road overflowing, dilaptions, decorations: 900 men worked from the Sunday evening hours to eliminate the damage. The municipalities of Oberwang and Unterach in the Vöcklabruck district were particularly hit right from the start, before the storm continued and the weirs in Gallneukirchen and Engerwitzdorf (Urfahr-Umgebung district) demanded massive. The rainy amounts were so enormous within a short time that due to the water level in the large Gusen flood alarm had to be triggered. In this regard, the all -clear could be given relatively quickly, but numerous basements were partly one meter high under water.
Disassembly in Mondsee
The heavy rain also called for the fire brigades in the Mondsee section: shortly after 7 p.m. the storm did. The heavy rain clouds had been established between the villages of Au-See and Oberwang. Around 60 liters of rain fell within an hour, as the section command reports.
On the L217, the Kienbergwand Landesstraße, a Mure went down, a section of the street along the bank was completely blocked. Fortunately, there was no vehicle on the street at this point. “A scree and stone avalanche has come. A vehicle would have been pushed from the Mure to the Mondsee,” said section fire brigade commander Alexander Neuhauser in an interview with the OÖNachrichten. The guiding rail was killed and torn out like a ignition wood.
