While the Greens primarily criticized the savings in the climate area, but also in the social sector, the FPÖ in fact did not like anything about the budget draft for 2025 and 2026. ÖVP, SPÖ and NEOS see a successful mix of consolidation and active measures.

The double budget, which provides for a total of 4.5 percent of GDP and 4.3 percent in the coming year, will only be decided on Wednesday after the individual areas have been worked through for three days in chapters. On the other hand, the budget accompanying law is already adopted on Monday, which, among other things, provides for the end of the climate bonus, a higher level of pregnancy for the corridor board and an extended use of the ankle bondage.
For Kickl budget heart and fantasyos
For FPÖ club chairman Herbert Kickl the budget design is a “heartless and imaginative clear cut”. Despite record income, additional debts would also be set up and in autumn the “next load hammer” will surely come. Pensioners, families and top performers would already be punished, while the “all-inclusive club of the peoples will remain”.

Kickl is responsible for the difficult budget situation “mass population migration”, “Corona madness”, “fanatical climate-state” and “armaments”. “They have all sinned,” said the FPÖ boss in the direction of the other parties and further explained: “They knock the penance for their deadly sins to their own population.” The blue MP Arnold Schiefer, in turn, criticized the fact that the committees had not taken up a single stimulation of the opposition. The budget is by no means a big throw, and a deficit procedure was also dealt with.
Green seeing discomfort
In the sound, the Greens reacted to the draft budget, but not exactly enthusiastic about it. Some measures such as the bank levy knew how to please, much more: “This budget is in numbers cast in numbers,” said the designated new party leader Leonore Gewessler. The climate protection is now only a “secondary scene”.
