Cultural diversity once again has the theater and concert program of the city of Wels ready for the 2025/2026 season: at yesterday’s program performance in the Greif city theater, Helmut Schmidinger, musical director, and Stefan Haslinger, responsible for acting, gave an outlook on the coming cultural year. “We rely on the best quality for the audience who decides not only for an evening with a subscription, but for a whole year for our offer,” said Vice Mayor and Culture Officer Christa Raggl-Mühlberger (FP).

Schmidinger also overwrites his program this year with a motto – this year the concert evenings of the Fermate, i.e. the holding sign, are prescribed. “On the one hand, the Fermate is a sign of pausing, but historically was also an invitation to improvisation,” says the director. In the program, the Fermate is homely in numerous varieties: symbolically in the second symphony of Johannes Brahms, which the Württemberg Philharmonic plays on October 21. The composer wrote the play on summer freshness on Lake Wörthersee – a fermate in his life. The L’Orfeo Baroque Orchestra breathes life into the historical understanding as an opportunity for creativity on February 12th.
