In the largest district capital of the Innviertel, however, it is not to be seen as the situation is further worsened, but it is being tackled: five new bars or shops are to be opened with a project funded by Leader Oberes Mattigtal and the municipality.

In cooperation with the local and urban developers of Cima, a start-up competition was started. “We want to motivate all those who have a good, original and sustainable business idea to finally put them into practice and be brave,” said Bachleitner. An incentive is that the foundation of the restaurant or business is accompanied professionally. Targeted professional support in the first year of operation by regional companies, the so -called network partners. “29 companies and organizations from Braunau have promised and participate. These are as many than in any other city so far. Counter value of this support is a sum of more than 100,000 euros,” said Cima project manager Stefan Lettner. Cima has already realized similar start-up competitions in 16 other cities, including in Ried. The “House of Sustainability” was then chosen and accompanied as a project winner.
