In the 20th season of the US success show, Jonglissimo had her big television appearance in Pasadena on Tuesday. The team led by founder Manuel Mitasch, Julius Preu, Luca Horse and Dominik Harant delighted the audience and the jury with their team juggling, in which they not only set new accents with 19 legs, but also offered an impressive light show thanks to LED technology in the clubs.
After two and a half minutes of “Lightpainting”, as they call this show, the audience was head and the four jurors were simply enthusiastic. “I waited something like that all day, I could have watched you forever,” said Mel B, singer of the Spice Girls, who was sitting on the jury alongside actress Sofía Vergara. As “exciting and beautiful”, she described the performance. Simon Cowell, British music producer and inventor of the shows “Got Talent” and “The X Factor”, confessed: “When I saw the clubs, my heart sank – but that was cleverly, unique and different.”
Jurors enthusiastic
Howie Mandel, Canadian comedian and long-time jury member, opened the coordination with a clear “yes”, which three more followed. Four times “yes” means the move into the next round, the “Judge cuts”. If the Upper Austrians also survive this round, they would be in the live shows. But that is still a future music.
For Manuel Mitasch, who founded the Ensemble Jonglissimo with his brother Christoph in Gallneukirchen, the show appearance on the big stage was already impressive, as he explained in the OÖN conversation. “You have to be fully there in the two and a half minutes and a small mistake can destroy the overall picture.”
There was no mistake and the risk was worth it in the end. The performance was not a good star. Because four days before the show, ensemble member Daniel Ledel fell ill and could not travel to the USA. With Luca Horse Menges from Mönchengladbach, the Upper Austrians quickly found a substitute who, according to Mitasch, has the quality of juggling and also “has the ability to learn and implement it quickly”.
The substitute was already in LA
Horse has been in the extended team of Jonglissimo for years, lived for a while during the pandemic in the “Jongleur-WG” in Ansfelden, where the ensemble has a studio to train, but has been on the road in the past four years because he visited all countries on earth. “When we had to react through Daniel’s failure, we remembered that Luca was in Los Angeles. We called him and he immediately agreed,” says Mitasch. “It was a stroke of luck.”
