Together with the second run of the 35th Fischer-Raika-Sport Rinnerthaler Skicup of the LSVOÖ. Area VI (Ried-Braunau), the third run was also held in Hinterreit/Maria Alm. In this cup run, however, only the age groups children 8 to 12, students 13 to 16, as well as the youth classes J18 and J21 were allowed to start in bright sunshine and fantastic slope conditions.
A “repeat offender”
The youth 21 runner Fabian Hofer (Union Maria Schmolln) achieved the fastest time of the day for the boys. He was already unbeatable at the start of the season and has now celebrated another success. Immediately behind, his brother Valentin Hofer (student 16, also Union Maria Schmolln) took second place. Niklas Schimmerl from USC Lochen completed the podium in third place, exactly three seconds behind the winner.
The fastest girl was once again the 16-year-old runner Hannah Rechberger from WSV Ranshofen. Just like Fabian Hofer, the young state squad runner celebrated a victory in the third cup run and once again demonstrated her great talent. Next to her on the podium were Sophie Maislinger (USC Lochen) in second and Annika Schütz (SCU Hohenzell) in third. But the demanding slope, on which World Cup skiers also train, was not for everyone. Some runners had their difficulties and did not reach the finish line this time. But after the long break caused by the pandemic, this did not detract from the joy of the race day.
