This news caused Wall Street indices to close in negative territory. The Dow Jones industrial index ended with a fall of 1.1%, the S&P 500 fell 1.5%, while the Nasdaq -of a mostly technological component- lost 2.1%.
Among the most traded Cedears, the highest increases were for Tesla (+6.6%), Coca-Cola (+4.5%) and Walmart (+4.1%). On the other hand, the most notable decreases were for Nvidia (-2.8%), Paypal (-2.6%), and Mercado Libre (-2.4%).
Regarding the Cedears ETF, Innovation ARKK fell 1.9%, but the remaining eight rose as much as 2.5% on the back of the SPY, which tracks the S&P 500 index.
Tesla’s strong rise was fueled by the company’s latest report. The electric-car maker beat Wall Street’s quarterly revenue and profit estimates on Wednesday. Its revenue was $18.8 billion in the first quarter, versus estimates of $17.8 billion.
This day the total volume in equities was $5,268 million, of which 79% corresponded to Cedears with $4,201 million, and 20% to Argentine shares with $1,067 million.
