Tesla led the declines with 9.4%, followed by Globant (-3.9%) and Advanced Micro devices (-3.5%).
After Elon Musk announced the acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion Investors feared that the CEO of Tesla will part with his shareholding to finalize the final amount of the purchasewhich affected the price of the company that produces electric cars.
For its part, the biggest increases were for Pfizer (+2.6%), Exxon (+2.2%) and Tenaris (+1.5%). As for Cedears ETFs, the energy XLE was up 2.5% and the innovation ARKK was down 3.9%.
The rise in the energy sector happened in tune with oil prices that closed higher. Brent crude futures rose 2.6% to $104.99 a barrel, while WTI contracts gained 3.2% to $101.7072 a barrel.
