Cedears of technology companies plummeted up to 10% in the Stock Market

Tesla led the declines with 9.4%, followed by Globant (-3.9%) and Advanced Micro devices (-3.5%).

After Elon Musk announced the acquisition of Twitter for $44 billion Investors feared that the CEO of Tesla will part with his shareholding to finalize the final amount of the purchasewhich affected the price of the company that produces electric cars.

For its part, the biggest increases were for Pfizer (+2.6%), Exxon (+2.2%) and Tenaris (+1.5%). As for Cedears ETFs, the energy XLE was up 2.5% and the innovation ARKK was down 3.9%.

The rise in the energy sector happened in tune with oil prices that closed higher. Brent crude futures rose 2.6% to $104.99 a barrel, while WTI contracts gained 3.2% to $101.7072 a barrel.

This day, the total volume in equities was $3,940 million, of which 73% corresponded to Cedears for $2,892 million, and 26% to shares of Argentine companies for $1,047 million.

Wall Street, for its part, ended the day with sharp falls, especially the Nasdaq (which fell 3.9%), due to investors’ concern about the slowdown in world growth and a more aggressive Federal Reserve.

At the same time Alphabet and Microsoft reported balance sheets. In the case of the former, it was worse than expected by market analysts and its shares fell almost 7% in the aftermarket.
