Among the most traded papers, the main decreases were for Globant (-3.5%), Paypal (-3.2%), and Alibaba (-3.1%). The Cedear ETF ARKK of innovation fell 3.4%.
The rise in energy papers happened in tune with the increase in the price of a barrel of oil. This Friday closed the second consecutive week of gains.
Brent futures rose 2% to $113.10 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude gained 2.2% to $110.61.
“In the short term, the fundamentals of oil are bullish and only the fear of an economic slowdown in the future is holding us back”said Phil Flynn, an analyst at Price Futures Group.
For its part, The New York Stock Exchange closed negative ground, after registering the worst session since 2020 and despite the publication of good employment figures in the United States.
The Dow Jones lost 0.3%, the Nasdaq index, with a strong composition of technology, lost 1.4% and the extended S&P 500 index, 0.6%.
