JP Morgan seeks technology students for its Software Engineer Program

“The profiles of this program are boys or girls who have solid knowledge in programming acquired at the university, but who still do not have work experience in technology, beyond an internship,” explained Clara Mendiberri, Managing Director of JP Morgan Argentina and Chairman of the Buenos Aires Corporate Center. “We are especially looking for people with enthusiasm, curiosity and a lot of desire, since the initiative consists of being part of a two-year global program in which they will have the opportunity to learn from our best talents from Argentina and abroad and to be part of a technology hub in full growth and with international reach, working for projects around the world”.

SEP is globally consolidated and, in Argentina, it has been implemented since 2017. At the local level, it has been a great source of technology talent for the Buenos Aires Corporate Center (BACC), JP Morgan’s technology hub that exports internal finance services , credits, economic research, technological development, cyber security, legal, among others, for the United States, Europe and Latin America. In constant growth and with a strong commitment to local employment, it reached the figure of 430 incorporations by the end of 2021, positioning itself as the fastest growing area within the company. Currently, there are 100 employees who participate in the SEP in the country and more than 100 graduates who are now in leadership roles in the organization.

The program

In addition to being advanced students or graduates with little experience of technology careers, candidates must have a level of English that allows them to communicate, since many of the trainings are conducted in that language.

The global program begins with an intensive two-week training, which will take place in July and simultaneously throughout the world. In this first approach, the participants receive the necessary tools in programming languages to be able to perform within the development area of the company. From the first day, they will have all the benefits of a full-time contract in the company.

After this training, they become part of a software development team, while receiving multiple trainings, both in technological and soft skills, personalized support from leaders, and are assigned to projects that challenge them professionally. After two years, they graduate to be promoted to perform specific development tasks or fill leadership roles in some cases.
