In this context, a report from Network Link reported growth in operations with electronic money in recent times, reaching a volume of $1.87 trillion in March as a result of nominal increases of 9.9% and 70.2% in the month and one year, respectively. The increase was much higher than the inflation rate of said periods, which reached 6.7% and 55.1%, in each section.
Elaborated based on data from 37 million cardsthe report indicates that the increase was underpinned “by the notable growth of non-face-to-face transactions at a bank window, as was traditional, to the point that it scored an index of 176.7 points, also prepared from nominal data and adjusted for seasonality.
The indicator fell 11.3% compared to the high level of the previous month, but rose 37.2% compared to the same month of the previous year, adding 114,158,320 operations, detailed in the report.
In that period, it was highlighted that in March 558,315 users entered the debit card operationwhich raised the record to just over 9.3 million and added 1.54 million in one year, at a rate of 19.8% per year.
Likewise, during the third month there were 518,350 in money transfers, reaching the maximum mark of 8.83 million, with an expansion rate in 12 months of 41.2%; 596,294 in wallets, to a historical peak of 7.75 million, with a growth of 179.4% in one year.
On the other hand, as in February, bank loans requested and channeled directly through the electronic means enabled by the entities grew. Volume increased 45% in the month and 81% in the last 12 months. In addition, the “Debines” did 18% and 329% in the total of registered transactions with respect to the previous month and a year before, respectively.
