Argentine bonds rise up to 8% amid rumors of cabinet changes

On Wednesday night, the rumors of a possible landing of Sergio Massa as “super minister” to the Government generated expectations. Although without official confirmation, changes in his staff are being analyzed in search of relaunching-again-management. Among the conjectures is the name of Serge Massa for two key positions in the Government: Minister of Economy or Chief of Staff.

However, given the rumors that gave it as a fact, Massa himself came out to clarify that he had no offer. But there are other names in dance.

In principle, Massa would meet with Alberto Fernández on Saturday, while the President seeks to strengthen his administration at a time when the economy marks the present and future of his Government, while the 2023 elections are already on the horizon.

The strongest version places him as Minister of Economy, replacing Silvina Batakiswho has not yet completed a month in the position he took after the departure of Martín Guzmán.

If the landing of Massa in the Cabinet materializes, it will be a new stage of oxygenation in the government of Alberto Fernández. The first strong change was in September 2021, after the defeat in the PASO. This year they went, among others, Martin Guzman and Matias Kulfastwo “Albertist” men who had great friction with Kirchnerism.

But not only Massa sounds. The name of the governor of Chaco is also being considered for a position, Jorge Captainich. While Miguel Pesce his continuity at the head of the Central Bank would not be guaranteed.
