The recently released statement said: “Creators will soon be able to create their own digital collectibles on Instagram and sell them to fans both on and off Instagram. They will have an end-to-end toolset, from creation (from the Polygon blockchain) and display to sale.”
“People can easily support their favorite creators by purchasing their digital collectibles directly on Instagram. We are testing these new features first with a small group of creators in the US and hope to expand to more countries soon,” she concluded.
Until now, target did not allow users to sell said collectibles, something that will change soon with a set of tools that it plans to introduce on Instagram. These will be used both for the creation and for the display and sale of assets.
On the other hand, it was also revealed that is expanding the types of digital collectibles that can be displayed on the platform, to incorporate video, and has added support for the Solana blockchain and the Phantom digital wallet. Likewise, they pointed out that the information of the collections whose metadata is integrated in OpenSea, such as their names or their corresponding descriptions, can already be viewed from Instagram itself.
