Likewise, the company expressed its confidence “in the work that we are carrying out with all the members of the value chain and the authorities of the Ministry of Economy.”

“We are all committed to the common objective of protecting production plans to maintain the levels of growth that the sector is registering,” Nissan said.

According to data from the Association of Automotive Factories (Adefa), in the first ten months the automotive terminals produced 446,396 units, which marked an increase of 28.1% compared to the 348,414 units that were produced in the same period of 2021.

Regarding exports, between January and October the sector sold 268,182 units abroad, an increase of 29.5% in relation to the same period last year.

Finally, the accumulated figure for the year shows that wholesale sales to dealers reached 307,528 units, an increase of 12.3% year-on-year.

The good performance of the activity, however, had some red flags in recent weeks in relation to the importation of inputs necessary for production.

In this sense, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, guaranteed last week at the annual conference of the Argentine Industrial Union (UIA) that the Central Bank’s reserves “are for production and work.”
