ADRs sank as much as 7% on Wall Street;  and the S&P Merval had its worst day in 4 weeks

In the leading panel, the biggest rises were for the shares of Mirgor (+7%); of Telecom Argentina (+0.7%) and Sociedad Comercial del Plata (+0.6%). While, the ones that fell the most were Transener (-6.8%), Transportadora de Gas del Norte (-6.7%) and Grupo Financiero values ​​(-4.7%).

For his part, Argentine shares listed on the New York Stock Exchange again aligned themselves with the falls on Wall Street and closed with generalized losses. Among them stood out Grupo Financiero Galicia (-7.1%), Mercado Libre (-6.7%) and Central Puerto (-2.6%). For its part, only the company Irsa finished without making losses.

“The market today (Monday) is more linked to the external trend and the lower appetite for risk”said an operator and pointed out that “eyes are on the activity of the Central Bank (BCRA) with the new soybean dollar.”

Last week, the government restored a special exchange rate of 230 pesos to the dollar for soybean exports to stimulate its foreign exchange settlements and strengthen the BCRA’s reduced reserves.

The monetary entity said that during the past week it had a positive balance of US$457 million for its intervention in the official exchange market, which allowed the recovery of international reserves, which are located at US$38,291 million. “The evolution of the soybean dollar will be the most relevant ‘driver’ in this short week”affirmed Portfolio Personal Inversiones.

“The amount by which the BCRA coffers can be increased in the remainder of December will be of fundamental importance. If the program is successful, we would expect to see an improvement in the country risk, leaving the possibility that the local ‘equity’ manages to expand your roof,” he added.

In this context, the New York stock market deepened its decline: the Dow Jones scored a loss from 1.4% to 34,947.10 points, while the technological nasdaq registered a loss of 1.9% to 11,239.80 units, and the Expanded S&P 500 Index decreased 1.8% to 3,998.84 points.

Bonds and country risk

In the dollar fixed income segment, the bonds transited the day with widespread casualties. those who higher losses suffered were the Overall 2035 (-3%)the Global 2035 (-2.2%) and the Bonar 2038 (-2%). While, uploaded only Bonar 2038 (+0.3%).

In this frame, the country risk rose 2.1% to 2,296 points.
