Apple delayed the launch of its electric car to 2026

Apple has not officially announced the existence of the so-called Titan project or its intention to produce vehicles in the future.

Despite this, US media claim that the technology giant known for its iPhones and iPads has been secretly working for at least 12 years on an electric and self-driving vehicle.

Bloomberg said Apple’s goal now is to develop a car that allows drivers to watch movies or play video games while driving on highways.

The only signal that Apple has given publicly about its possible interest in the production of a vehicle were the statements in April 2021 by Apple CEO Tim Cook, who said that “an autonomous vehicle is a robot” and that ” We’ll see what Apple does.”

Cook indicated during the interview on the “Sway” podcast that “autonomous driving itself” is, in his opinion, “a core technology” and considered that “there are many things that can be done” in this field.

In December 2020, Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, revealed that when things went wrong for Tesla in the face of difficulties producing the Model 3tried to sell the company to Apple “for a tenth of our current value,” but that Cook “refused to agree to a meeting” to discuss the offer.

For this reason, Musk has expressed his surprise about the information about Apple and its interest in producing driverless vehicles.
