ADRs climbed as much as 8% on Wall Street and led the S&P Merval to post its biggest daily gain in 6 months

In the leading panel, the highest increases were recorded by energy and financial papers led by Edenor (+7.3%), Transportadora de Gas del Norte (+6.9%), and Grupo Financiero Galicia (+6.6% ).

For their part, Argentine companies listed on Wall Street shot up sharply due to the recovery of the main indices on that market and the good performance of companies at the local level. The ones that rose the most were Despegar (+8.4%), Banco Supervielle (+7.6%) and Grupo Financiero Galicia (+6.6%).

US stocks closed higher on Friday, when the S&P 500 and the Dow broke a three-day losing streak and the Nasdaq rose more than 2%boosted by quarterly earnings reported by large companies.

Bonds and country risk

Dollar bonds ended the day mixed. Thus, the main increases were for Global 2035 (+2.3%) and for Bonar 2031 (+1.6%), but the falls were led by Global 2029 (-3.4%) and Global 2030 (-2, 4%). Bonds closed the week with an average improvement of 4.9%.

The country risk measured by the JP Morgan bank fell 3.1% to 1,874 basis pointscompared to its historical maximum level of 2,976 points registered last July.

This weekthe Government announced a repurchase of foreign debt for some US$1,000 million, while the central bank (BCRA) raised the rate of passive repos by 200 basis points. Operators estimated that in the first two days after the debt repurchase was launched, some US$220 million were taken, while they estimate that the rise in the repo rate seeks to control financial dollars.

For his part, dollar-linked sovereigns rose 0.4% on average, closing the week with gains of 1.5% on average along the curve. The duals were also requested, and ended with average increases of 1.2%. Thus, the entire curve closed the week positively.
