The leading stock index S&P Merval fell 2.6%to 242,378.23 units, after losing 0.87% on Thursday and close January with a strong climb of 24.47%.

The shares that sank the most were Telecom (-4.7%), Banco Macro (-4.6%) and Transportadora de Gas del Sur (-3.8%).

For his part, Argentine stocks listed on Wall Street ended with heavy losses led by Pampa Energy (-3.2%), Central Puerto (-3.1%) and Banco Macro (-2.9%).

The bets of local and external operators continue to prevail and so spreads more (investor) appetite,” an analyst told Reuters.

In the wholesale segment, the US currency operates with an increase of 30 cents compared to the previous close, at an average of $188.

In the fixed income sector, dollar bonds closed with majority of casualties led by Bonar 2030 (-5.9%), Global 2030 (-5.4%) and Bonar 2029 (-4.6%).

For its part, the country risk of JP Morgan fell 2.6% to 1,841 points.
