Elon Musk donated a million dollar amount in Tesla shares to charities

According to the economic journal, Musk’s charitable donations in 2021 were valued at approximately $5.7 billion, although, like last year, it is unknown which organizations they went to.

Musk, who now owns about 13% of Tesla’s capital, also sold about $23 billion of his stake in the car company during 2022, in part to support the purchase of social networking site Twitter Inc.

The billionaire acquired the popular social network last year after reaching an agreement with its shareholders for an amount of 44,000 million dollars. The newspaper recalls that Tesla’s shares fell 65% last year, in its worst annual record, with which its market value fell to 675,000 million dollars.

These figures caused Musk to have to cede the unofficial title of richest person in the world to French billionaire Bernard Arnault in December.

Tesla shares have recouped some of their 2022 losses. The stock is up about 70% this year and closed up 7.5% at about $209.25 in Tuesday trading, it said.

The owner of Twitter, who has been embroiled in numerous controversies since he bought the company, said Wednesday that he hopes to find a new executive director of the social network by the end of this year, after he announced last December that he would resign only when you find someone to replace you.

“I guess probably towards the end of this year will be a good time to find someone else to run the company,” Musk said in a video call on the last day of the World Summit of Governments, which is being held in Dubai.
