Renault considers that the set of results is very positive and is above its objectives, since turnover reached 46,371 million euros (11% more) and operating profit reached 2,216 million (146% more).
The exit from Russia
On March 23, the French automaker announced it was suspending its activities in Moscow after Ukraine called for an international boycott of the firm for staying in Russia.
Russia was Renault’s second market after the European Union (EU).
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky had asked French legislators for companies in this country to leave Russia.
And a few hours later the head of Ukrainian diplomacy Dmytro Kuleba called for a worldwide “boycott” of Renault, accusing the company with the diamond logo of “supporting a brutal war of aggression.”
In its statement, Renault “recalls that it is already adopting the necessary measures to respect the international sanctions” approved against Russia.
“Consequently [de esas decisiones]Renault Group is forced to review its financial perspectives for the year 2022,” the statement added.
