Journalist: What does Celeri do?

Lucas Ranallo.: We automate compliance processes, what is it? Synonym of regulation. Financial entities are usually regulated by different public entities, such as the National Securities Commission, or the Central Bank, or the UIF, an entity that seeks to end terrorism and money laundering. Basically we help fintech and traditional financial entities to automate these compliances.

We give you a technological platform that seeks to reduce the amount of manual tasks. Today Excel is used a lot and we integrate them into different systems and automate tasks to make your day to day easier. In Creole, we are in the kitchen of the financial institutions to make the dishes come out faster.

Q.: It is a product that works internally for companies…

LR: The tip that you see from the outside is the selfie when you open an account, for example in a fintech, in Mercado Pago, or in a bank and everything that happens behind it, inside we help them comply with that.

Q.: How long has the company been around and what expansion has it had?

LR: We first started 5 years ago as a process automation consultancy focused on the financial industry, especially in capital markets, and a year and a half ago, we pivoted to offer the product as a process automation platform.

Today we are 35 people in the team with the center in Buenos Aires, Argentina and we have a physical presence in Argentina, Colombia and Mexico, which is why we came to this event and we have operational clients in 8 countries and there we add Uruguay, Paraguay , Peru, Chile, and Brazil.

Q.: How do you see the competition today in the sector?

LR: It has existed for a long time, the problem was mainly after the attack on the Twin Towers and the economic crises, the regulatory issue became much stronger.

Our main competitors are legacy solutions that have been around for a long time and are technologically older, and we have come to make that product better so that traditional entities migrate to our software and fintech companies can start with a lighter backpack.

Q.: What is your difference specifically?

LR: Basically, our ecosystem is completely amplified, which allows us to integrate other solutions more quickly with all the talk of Open Banking, of MBP (Minimum Beautiful Product) product launches in an agile way.

Our platform supports and supports companies to do that by complying with current regulations, which today is super important because of what happened with FTX. Everything related to transparency and compliance is becoming increasingly relevant, we are that arm that gives you support to do things well.

Q.: What are the challenges ahead and what are the obstacles to overcome?

LR: Nowadays it is the regional expansion that is going very well for us today but in Mexico it is specifically the challenge that we have today because it has a very complex regulation, they have a lot of players and it is a very large market. Each country has its tropicalization on our platform.

That is one of the main challenges, starting to work with banking entities are the ones that are most demanding at the level of regulatory compliance. They are also the ones that demand more from technology providers with security measures, certifications, and so on, that is another major obstacle that we are going through.

Q.: What expectations do you have of being at Finnosummit?

LR: We came to understand the ecosystem and to connect with people from this jurisdiction and the truth is that from now on it is having very good results because we can meet people who are in credit institutions, financial institutions, in fitech, in banks and one of Those personal connections were something that the pandemic took away from us and when you do it face to face it shows a lot. We are making our first steps in the market here and personal contact is a great advantage.

Q.: How do you see Argentina in terms of development of the fintech sector compared to the region?

LR: Very advanced. We already have clients in Mexico because they are clients in Argentina who are expanding in Mexico or clients in Brazil because they went there from our country or in Peru because they also expanded.

Argentina is superimposed with so many fintechs for final consumption, such as Mercado Libre, Ualá, with any crypto exchange, or with providers like Pomelo, as we do, and many others as well. We are a benchmark in the region. The obstacles of the circumstances in Argentina prepare us for these challenges and we can react faster and provide a better service.
