After accumulating a million dollars, he released the book “Learn how to increase your chances of winning the lottery”, in which he explains his method, and toured the world giving talks about it.
Here are some of the tips Lustig gives in his book:
- To diversify: buy a larger number of tickets instead of placing larger bets.
- Play with a group of friends: to spend less and make multiple and higher bets.
- Choose numbers greater than 31: to avoid dates, which are the most chosen figures and thus, if it is your turn, that the prize is not distributed.
- Play in smaller draws and with smaller prizes: they will give you more possibilities since fewer people will participate.
- Try to always make the same bets and try not to be consecutive numbers: the probability system increases if the chosen numbers do not have the same ending or start the same, without there being a logical or mathematical explanation for it.
Richard Lustig passed away on July 30, 2018, at 67 years old. In addition to guaranteeing a good income for his family, his work was useful to millions of people. Notably gambling can also become an addiction.
