Genesis of this project
Dvoskin described the song in a statement as a “dreamer and more electronic” version of the hit, which remains one of Bowie’s most popular tracks. The music producer and composer always wanted this new version to see the light. So it was that, approaching the 40th anniversary the launch of the emblematic song, he decided to get the necessary confirmations to release the song via NFT.
“When I first spoke to the executor of Bowie’s estate, he told me that he planned to listen to my proposal about releasing this song as an NFT and then politely decline,” Dvoskin said in a statement. “But when he opened the original email from 2002 in which Bowie expressed his enthusiasm for making the recording, changed his mind. This it was a creative project that David could never see launched in life. We are fulfilling his wish by releasing it now.”
